Our In Life and Connections Workshop uses P.A.C.E. (Playfulness,
Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) by Dan Hughes to deliver a unique,
therapeutic experience. This out-of-the-box approach brings people
together to explore stories and support around addictions in a positive,
engaging way.
The workshop emphasizes the realization that life, like a game, involves
winning and losing—but it’s about showing up and continuing to play.
Participants discover that fun, connection, and fulfillment can exist without
substances or gambling, fostering resilience and hope.
In Life and Connections Workshop
YEL-P is a dual-faceted initiative designed to support young people dealing
with challenges such as trauma, dysregulation, developmental delays, and
school disengagement. The program focuses on addressing their
psychological and emotional needs to reduce suspensions, minimize school
refusal, and foster a sense of stability and belonging, equipping students to
remain engaged in their education.
Element 1: EMPOWERed Support
A therapeutic key worker is placed within the school environment to provide
immediate, trauma-informed support to students who are dysregulated or
struggling. This element focuses on building their confidence and capacity
to reengage with school, resulting in improved attendance and participation.
Element 2: EMPOWERed YOUth
This element provides one-on-one, tailored support in the community
through a therapeutic key worker. By engaging the young person in an
interest-based project, it helps them reconnect with learning, establish a
school routine, and meet their individual psychological needs.
YOUth EMPOWERment Learning Program (YEL-P)
The workshop was a great
success, with participants fully
engaged and comfortable
throughout.
The icebreaker game, snacks,
and supportive facilitators
created a welcoming
environment.
Activities were well-structured,
and the competitive group
element was a highlight.
Participants stayed engaged
the entire time, clapping at the
end and expressing excitement
for the next session.
This workshop showcased the
power of trauma-informed care
in creating a safe and
empowering experience.

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri people as the Traditional
Custodians of the land on which we provide our services. We pay
our deepest respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging.
This land has always been a place of learning, connection, and
care for the Wurundjeri people, who have lived here for
thousands of years. Their wisdom about the land, its animals,
plants, and ecosystems continues to inspire and guide us.
As we work, learn, and play together, we honor the Wurundjeri
people's enduring connection to this land and their vital role as
its custodians. We are committed to respecting and caring for the
land, following the example they have set for generations.
Thank You
